This past week was an indoor week for Isaac and I. We both were battling colds and the weather has been chilly and sometimes rainy. Our moods seem to mirror the weather after being cooped up with sniffles and sneezes. So when our colds began to leave us it was nice to be able to get out for a bit. Gonna try to do some more of the outdoor thing today… If this boy ever wakes up from his nap. Ahhh… quiet.
After the rain..

Posted Quilting
inAbout a year ago I began an adventure in fabric. A year ago? Why yes, a year ago. Did you finish? Why ye… err.. umm.. no… I did not. What happened? Well, it’s almost done.. so close I can almost see it laid out on a bed. Oh, but the binding! The binding has plagued me. The strips are cut and are half sewn.. but I keep messing up and having to rip seams. I need an extra jolt of energy and inspiration to finish this long (rewarding, but long) project. So, I must blog about it. I must give you a taste of what I’m working on so that I can regain the enthusiasm I had going into it. It’s a twin size quilt, for my boy. Bright and lovely. Unfinished but almost!
Looking back through my progress is kind of fun! Maybe that little kick just happened.. now I just need the time!

These are eventually going to be given to some special people. However I decided I could do a show and tell now because it’s taking me a bit of time to get them all crocheted up. Some more colors have been added to the mix since I photographed these. The yarn is a natural cotton and is very soft, works up easy. Two different patterns, one with triple crochet and half double crochet intermixed giving a nice texture, the other a smooth finish with only half double crochet. Quick, easy, and beautiful.

inThis amazing spring weather is inspiring in the creative department. I have a ton of ideas running through my head. From finishing up projects long overdue, to presents, to sewing up some pants for Isaac, to working on patterns for a possible future Etsy shop… my mind is busy.
The flowers blooming around me make my fingers itch to hook with bright cottons. I’ve fallen in love with cotton for the spring.. the day’s of wool have been laid to rest along with the cold weather. Cotton flows so nicely over the fingers and the soft result is light and inviting. Mmmm… I have a lot of finished projects I want to show you but they will have to wait. So in the meantime… be inspired…

inI started out yesterday trying to show our day through photography, but life happened and a camera isn’t always welcome by a 2 year old. So, in the end it became what my photos always are– An amateur trying to show off the beauty of the day whenever my boy wasn’t freaking out at the camera being in his face or my hand. Seriously though, it was warm and humid and GORGEOUS!And today is gearing up for some of the same! I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
On the deck in jammies is a great way to start a day!
ALL about his bike! And why wouldn’t he be? He’s a pro!
As he rings his little bell and talks non-stop, mommy keeps her hands busy with her hook.
And a quick photo shoot.. messy couscous face included of course.
But really, it’s not all fun and games. There’s always some form of laundry happening and every few days it’s the diapers turn.
So what will TODAY hold? I’m sure much of the same, minus the diaper laundry. The boy is already out on the deck enjoying the warmth, his car and some grapes. Does life get much better?

Oh warmth, how I love thee! Aching for the blue skies over my head, the green grass tickling my toes, and the warm sunshine brushing my cheeks! This mild winter has made me itch for the warm days more then usual. Or maybe it’s because I have an energetic two year old? I think both. I saw his little plastic pool bunched up in the basement the other day and got a flutter of excitement for the days that we will be able to splash around and spend lazy days basking in the suns rays. But for now we’ll ease into the feeling. Some walks down to the horses, some handy hooking while watching the boy play, peeking at the flowers that are showing signs of Spring. These photos are a glimpse of the past week or so. Looking forward to a full week of sunshine!
Simple beauty. I love it.

What happened to that Spring weather I was so enjoying? We froze our booty’s off this morning as we took time to worship in God’s beautiful creation. Hubby has started doing night shifts for his internship so the boy and I were on our own. I wasn’t brave enough to take Isaac to church on my own as he has been having some difficulties in his class and is still getting over this cold. So instead we walked/jogged through our local park chasing geese.. Okay so Isaac was the one chasing the geese, I just snapped the pictures and tried to keep up! How did you choose to worship this morning?
Apparently William Penn was mammoth in size… snicker snicker…
