Finally. It’s been a day over a month since we packed up and moved. It sure doesn’t feel that long! It’s taken some time, and will take a little bit more.. but we are starting to feel at home here. Still getting used to the area, to my husbands new schedule, to life away from family. But we’re getting there..
Been hookin’ some baby boy things… We’re over halfway there to meeting these two little guys!
What YOU doing, mommy? This is a question I here ten gazillion times a day from my Isaac. The way he says it is very reminiscent of a certain character on a certain TV show.. Can you guess who I’m talking about? Anywho, the point of this post is to give you a taste of our life in recent days.
Sunny days keepin’ the clouds away..

It’s been a whirlwind past few weeks. Here’s a peek of our happenings..
Out for a bike around the block. We play “The Mailbox Game”.. Isaac is allowed to go to the next mailbox and wait for me to catch up and then he can go to the next. Keeps him moving at a safe pace, and keeps it fun for him.
One of our weekends was spent in Maryland watching my Maryland State Police Candidate husband run a race with his class. Isaac and I were able to walk around a beautiful park. The little guys favorite part was saying hi to men and women in uniform. At one point a mounted officer clip clopped by on her horse and looked down at Isaac to say hi. Isaac responded in kind and then as she left he looked up at me in awe and said “That was Yawesome!” (Yawesome=awesome in Isaac speak) He is quite proud of the profession his daddy has chosen!
September has already brought us some beautiful fall weather. Cool days, leaves beginning their change. And more fun and beauty is to be had as September winds down into October! Life just keeps on moving forward and we are enjoying the ride!
Isaac is coloring.. “Phew.. This is hard work.”
After praying with Isaac I asked him if he’d like to thank God for anything. “Yes. For lollihops. Thank God for lollihops.. the GREEN lollihop with daddy at the bank. Thank you God. For buttons. I press buttons at Target. I press buttons at home. Thank you God. Playing piano. Piano at Janie’s. Piano at Poppop’s. Ummmm.. and… ummm… What comes next mommy? Oh.. Amen.”
Isaac told me tonight that “God made my noses, my mouths and cookies!”
I think we need to work on how to play hide and seek with Isaac.. “Mommy, I’m hiding under my blanket.”
Isaac’s main bedtime song is Silent Night. Tonight he sang through the whole thing with me and then ended it with “Sleep in a piece of pie, sleep in a piece of pie..” Pie on the mind?
Me: Isaac are you ready for that diaper change yet?
Isaac: No thank you, I’m not done.
And we laugh.
We’re slowly getting back into the swing of things since vacation ended. Isaac and I are learning a new routine without daddy during the week. When it gets to this point in the summer things start to move super fast it seems, fall is quickly approaching. So, let’s slow it down a bit and remember the beauty that’s surrounding us…
Ahh, vacation. I’m close to the end of it though. My mothers family spends a week together on the Chesapeake. We are far away from real life at The Bay, a good half hour to the nearest “large” town. “The end of the world” as my husband put it. Not every ones cup of tea, but mmm.. I drank it in. The beauty, the peace. Oh yes, there were bugs. Tons. Isaac and I were eaten alive a few times and required Benedryl and many applications of witch hazel to be comfortable. I even managed to step on a giant wasp that was eating a giant dragonfly. My foot swelled up and hurt for a few days after that! However, that was a small price to pay for the wonderful family time, the intense pool time, and the breathtaking beauty surrounding us. There was anxiety hanging over my husband and I though. This was our last full week together before he was headed off to 26 weeks of Police Academy. It’s fitting that we were spending our last bit of time together in the State we will soon be residing in. Maryland, the Eastern Shore to be exact, is beautiful and hopefully a place we will call home in six months time!
Now, Isaac and I are still on vacation. I left Joel at the Maryland State Police Academy on Sunday and road tripped to my immediate families annual Cape May, NJ vacation. I’ve been a bit lazy and have yet to get the camera out. It’s been a bit of a bummer not having my husband here and knowing that he is going through a very very rough first week of Academy. But he has called me and let me know he is okay, in pain and exhausted, but okay. So, if you think of it, you can say a little prayer for strength and endurance for him.
Okay, so that crochet post that I promised still hasn’t happened. Whoops! I have some WIP’s to show you, nothing finished though. I promise, I will get some pictures SOON! I just have been pretty busy with other life things. We’ve had an exciting past week, my husband was accepted into the Maryland State Police Academy to become a Trooper! He will begin that journey on August 13th. We have been busy celebrating and dreaming about the future. I’m still on a high from the news! Our move to Maryland won’t happen until February, as academy lasts for six months. So Isaac and I will be camped out at my parents until Joel graduates! Things are finally happening after two plus years of waiting and working towards our goals. It’s exciting and fresh and nerve wracking. We are blessed and are thankful to our families for the support they have provided through this season. God is good and makes his plans known in his time.
